Isle of Wight Yoga Retreat with Erling & Elaine: A Journey of Balance and Connection

Discover the transformative power of Scaravelli Inspired Yoga during our intimate Isle of Wight Yoga Retreat. With over 25 years of teaching experience, Erling and Elaine invite you to explore this natural approach to yoga, which focuses on releasing tension, developing balance, and fostering a profound connection between body, breath, and gravity.

We have been following our Yoga hearts for half our lives and teaching for over 25 years! It’s our pleasure to share our findings with you. Our Yoga Practice revolves around Scaravelli-inspired yoga, which advocates a natural approach, releasing tension and developing balance and connection. This practice suits everyone; you can learn more about this in our blog, Who is Vanda Scaravelli & Why Inspired Yoga?

The Essence of Scaravelli Yoga

Vanda Scaravelli’s teachings emphasise a compassionate and intuitive approach to yoga. By listening to your body and working with its natural intelligence, you can uncover a newfound sense of freedom and ease in your practice. Our retreat provides a nurturing space to delve deep into this transformative way of practising yoga.

An Intimate Home Practice

We open our doors to you in the spirit of Vanda Scaravelli’s tradition of welcoming small groups of students into her home. With a maximum of 3-4 students, our retreat offers an unparalleled opportunity for personalised guidance and in-depth exploration of your yoga practice.

Nourishment for Body and Soul

Between yoga sessions, Meditation, and leisurely walks through the stunning Isle of Wight countryside, you’ll savour lovingly prepared vegetarian and vegan meals from our kitchen. Our wholesome, balanced cuisine will leave you feeling nourished and energised.

The Serenity of the Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight’s tranquil atmosphere perfectly complements your yoga retreat experience. As you’ll discover in our blog post, “Yoga on the Isle of Wight,” this island haven provides the ideal setting for stillness, introspection, and growth.

Retreating on the Isle of Wight

The Isle of Wight is not only a haven for yoga and yoga retreats but also a metaphor for the journey we embark upon in our practice. In yoga, we discover that we can rest in our natural state of being, finding an inner sanctuary of peace and tranquillity. This journey is akin to finding your own inner island—a place of refuge and connection to your true self.

The Isle of Wight mirrors this inner journey with its serene beauty and gentle pace of life. As you step onto the island, you’ll feel a sense of leaving behind the stresses and distractions of everyday life, allowing yourself to be fully present in the moment. The island’s natural landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for introspection and self-discovery, from its rolling hills to pristine beaches.

So, without further ado, Elaine and Erling welcome you to a yoga weekend.

  2. Brett Walpole

Having just spent three days with Erling and Elaine in their wonderful home and work space, I feel a strong but gentle redirection of my personal Yoga journey. It’s hard to imagine a more natural and welcoming location in which to transition from a place of disquiet and distraction, to a more peaceful and energised shift of perspective. The Yoga itself demanded focus, and was at times quite intense, but the good pace of this work and time for rest, both during and between sessions, gave great room to become far more self aware. The learning created by Erling’s subtle and personal approach has given me a great opportunity for growth. Clearly the methods he uses have been gained with great experience and his cooking is second to none – the “Rhaji Bhajis” were incredible! Elaine’s beautiful artwork, and the many houseplants which fill the high ceilings of their Victorian house, create a calm place of happiness where I felt immediately at ease and relaxed. Good conversations at the dinner table, a huge cast iron bath (!) and just a short stroll to the beach made this Yoga retreat ideal for me. I will definitely be returning as I feel my Yoga now has considerably more direction and purpose. Brett Walpole, May 2024
