Yoga is your awareness.
Yoga in action is how well you discriminate between tension and effort when you move in poses.
As an experienced yoga teacher on the Isle of Wight, I have been teaching Scaravelli-inspired Yoga for over two decades. This gentle yet profoundly transformative form of Hatha Yoga has helped countless students to discover their unique path to physical and mental well-being.
In my classes, you will have the opportunity to experience something truly extraordinary in a safe and inspiring environment. Each student is unique, and my classes are designed to provide individualised support and guidance, allowing you to explore your own unique potential and find what feels right for you in each moment.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced yogi, I invite you to join me in a class and discover the benefits of Scaravelli-inspired Yoga for yourself. I look forward to supporting you on your journey towards greater health and well-being.
Yoga Classes in-person
I hold weekly classes at my home yoga studio in Shanklin. Other yoga teachers and I have used this beautiful room to host yoga retreats, workshops, classes, and more since 2003. We started the first yoga studio on the Isle of Wight with the Yogi Generation and have continued to embody Yoga as part of our lives.
One-to-One Yoga.
A one-to-one yoga session allows for a personalised assessment of your unique body map and compliance with yoga postures. As human beings, movement is natural to us, and our yoga practice should support and enhance it. My method is highly accessible and offers numerous benefits to individuals of all levels and abilities.
Yoga Workshops.
As a Scaravelli-inspired Yoga teacher, I am passionate about offering workshops as a teaching platform. In a workshop, we have the time and space to explore various themes and deepen our understanding of this holistic practice.
Yoga Retreats.
Erling’s Personalised Yoga retreats are an opportunity to experience an immersive, individualised yoga retreat with a 500-hour level teacher with 20 years of experience. These retreats are unique because they are limited to only three students at a time, allowing for a personalised and intimate experience.

Isle of Wight Yoga Classes.
As a Scaravelli-inspired yoga teacher, I believe this approach to yoga is a sensitive and intelligent way to practice. It is informed by a contemporary understanding of how the human body works. My goal as a teacher is to help you find the most appropriate and natural way to experience freedom and ease in your body and mind.
Is Yoga Exercise or How I Feel?
In my classes, I focus on helping students discover their own unique movements and stillness. Each person is different, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to yoga. Instead, I strive to create an environment where you can explore, experiment, and find what feels right for you in each moment.
Yoga Teachers and Experience
It is vitally important in a yoga class to have a qualified and experienced teacher. Injuries can and do happen to yoga teachers and students alike. Your yoga practice should support the normal range of functional movement we humans have.
What is Yoga?
As a yogi, our beliefs determine yoga’s true meaning. Our thoughts shape our reality and influence how we perceive the world around us. For me, yoga is a practice that helps me to connect with my true self and find inner peace and clarity. It is a way of learning to let go of limiting beliefs and expectations and be present in the moment.
Scaravelli inspired Yoga
Working with the lines of support skeletal bones provide and focusing on the release of tension that comes with the breath exhalation, we can better understand how to respond to sensory input, minimising the effort needed to attain a movement, shape or asana. This not only helps us to move more gracefully but also allows us to tap into a more profound sense of relaxation and well-being.

Somatic Movement: Why it Matters (and How to Do It)
Somatics and somatic movement are vital components of the yoga learning process. By focusing on the internal feelings of the movement, we can learn new skills more consciously.
