A one to one yoga teaching lesson has the potential of being a profound experience. On the face of it, an exchange of knowledge between student and teacher. But, look more in-depth, and we see it celebrates a deep-rooted need to inform, teach and cultivate wisdom. Thus, helping humankind to prosper in a perpetual process honouring all our teachers and ourselves.

Coronavirus COVID-19 has caused uncertainty surrounding the safety of re-opening yoga studios in our community. Zoom enables us to connect and work in all areas of our lives. I am teaching online yoga using Zoom for a number of my classes.

On Zoom
Zoom has become a new word in our lexicon since lockdown throughout the world. No more so than in the world of yoga teaching. Coronavirus COVID-19 and its variants are a highly contagious virus, and there is much uncertainty surrounding the safety of re-opening yoga studios in our community. In person One to One Yoga
In-person one to one yoga classes are one of my favourite teaching experiences.
They represent a great way to communicate clearly between teacher and student. A session allows the student time, space and the privacy to relate any concerns, particular interests they have or would like to approach through their yoga practice. For the teacher, it’s an opportunity to look closely at how the student is working with their yoga practice.

One to one yoga studio
I invite you to come to my home studio for these yoga sessions. I have taught here for 18 years. The fully equipped studio has beautiful energy and feels imbued with a yogic feel. Therefore, we have everything on hand to make your session worthwhile.
For the complete beginner, a one to one yoga class can be an excellent way for you to begin bringing yoga into your life and building the confidence needed to start a home practice. Or as preparation for joining a class, you can then check in periodically if you would like to confirm your practice is developing in the right way.
I have helped several people find the confidence to move freely again and overcome chronic pain. For them, the one to one yoga class was invaluable and worth the money.
The Yoga of Life After Lockdown.
Life after lockdown. Is life a reflection of our inner world? Then what we see will have far-reaching consequences if we know what to do with it. I am so pleased my friend Divya agreed to write the guest blog this month. Divya Kolhi is a yoga teacher and author, and she reminds us that the practice of yoga is about noticing. Her insights are very astute; she’s very much about life and the spirit of our humanity. Enjoy.
continue readingBreathing, it’s just you.
We humans come into the world knowing how to breathe. In yoga, we give breath special meaning because of its historical connection to prana (the vital life force). As a result, humans become tense in life. But if we are habitually tight, we don’ get to breathe optimally. During this workshop, I’ll teach techniques to release muscular tension. When there is less tension, your body self-regulates breathing. It is not about you imposing ideas on yourself. It is about you being you.
Social distancing
Social distancing for the foreseeable future means the world of yoga has moved online because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Zoom is the platform of choice yoga teachers use to continue their work. Online Zoom classes is a solution to not being able to attend an in-person workshop.
