Social Distancing & Yoga

Social distancing for the foreseeable future means the world of Yoga has moved online because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Zoom is the platform of choice yoga teachers use to continue their work. Online yoga classes is a solution to not being able to attend an in-person class.

What are online yoga classes?

Online Yoga classes are live & interactive Yoga classes where you participate in real-time—shared through a high-quality video conferencing app called Zoom. I can teach you from the comfort of your home using the latest online technology. Welcome to a new brave world of social distancing Yoga.

Social distancing yoga

Yoga practice is a very, very personal experience. There are no two ways about it. A student follows a teacher’s instructions in a Hatha Yoga class, often about anatomical position or alignment. Most Yoga pose instructions are, in fact, applied anatomy. Set aside this aim, and the practice is much more about what you feel, how you feel the sense of yourself, in movement in and out of poses. I’m sure that, like me, most Yoga teachers want students to establish a regular home practice. And it is here, at the moment, without the physical presence of a teacher, that the Yoga is.

Scaravelli inspired Yoga

Scaravelli inspired Yoga should make your practice feel very natural and intuitive. Human movement is natural, and our yoga practice should support it. Sometimes, in modern postural Yoga, the complete opposite happens.

Online Schedule

Over the coming weeks, I will be launching online yoga content. We can assume that it’s a safe and responsible response to social distancing for the Yoga community. Perhaps we should consider calling it non-in-person Yoga?
