Yoga workshop(s) (Scaravelli inspired yoga workshop) gives you the time and space to explore and understand how compliant you are in yoga postures and movement. Under Erling’s experienced guidance, you’ll get the chance to change your awareness of how you “do yoga”.
Expect to perceive things a little differently about your attitude to your body, also about your ideas and approach to yoga postures or asana practice. Breath and the spaces we develop are so closely linked. After a yoga workshop day, you can expect to feel your breath differently, walk a little lighter and feel a little taller.

Each Scaravelli inspired yoga workshop has a topic or idea we want to explore. We’ll unpick the contents throughout with some theory but mostly practical work. As a result, you will learn the efficient use of how to implement these into a modern postural yoga practice.
Scaravelli inspired yoga principals.
Scaravelli yoga is known as spine-centric practice. We will cover Vanda’s core yoga principals. Breath, gravity and a free moving spine. For every human, your spine is the engine of your locomotion. A healthy spine moves compliantly in four planes. We and our spines have evolved over Millenium to move well, and thus, we want our yoga practise to encourage this natural range of movement.

25th April: Breathing, it’s just you.
We humans come into the world, knowing how to breathe. In yoga, we give breath special meaning because of its historical connection to prana (the vital life force). Humans become tense in life. But if we are habitually tight, we don’ get to breathe optimally. During this workshop, I’ll teach techniques to release muscular tension. When there is less tension, your body self-regulates breathing. It is not about you imposing ideas on yourself. It is about you being you. Three things always affect our breathing in yoga—our emotions, how much effort we are exerting and our postures. Your breath can cope with all of it if you allow it too. So breathing is about identity, about you being you.
20th June: Theory of movement.
In this inspired yoga workshop, we’ll explore the theory of movement in a Modern Postural Yoga Practice. Your yoga practice should support the normal range of functional movement we humans have. Sometimes the opposite happens. I will share some background and history of yoga asana and how to develop safe practice methods that avoid injury or strain.
19th September: A compliant Spine in Hatha Yoga.
Your spine is the engine of your movement. Humans need to practice movements to be resilience to the functions we do. We habituate these patterns. Over time we set a unique body pattern that governs where we move in the spine. A compliant spine moves us well. But what happens when your spine is not? You overuse the areas you move well from and exclude the areas you have not mapped. Not all yoga practices can address this imbalance, but Scaravelli inspired yoga does. This workshop will show you how.
14th November: Post lineage yoga.
I like to say I’m firstly a human, yogi second—this flys in the face of some of the more traditional esoteric tantric yoga ideas. But if yoga is genuinely about discovering our human nature and conditioning, the yoga community needs a wake-up call in the 21st century. In this workshop, I’ll share a new understanding of what yoga is in our current time, which questions traditional guru lineage teaching.
